Mobile Developer

Role Overview

C4Media is seeking a Mobile Developer (React Native) to join its fully remote team as an independent contractor. You will build and maintain mobile features end-to-end, including API integration, state/data handling, and polished UI for both iOS and Android.

What You’ll Do

• Implement Mobile Features: Build complete production features in React Native, from API integration to UI rendering.
• Data & State Handling: Consume REST APIs, manage async flows, and handle caching, error states, and other edge cases.
• Cross-Platform Delivery: Ensure consistent behavior across iOS and Android.
• Production Readiness: Implement loading states, retries, offline scenarios, and robustness for real-world usage.
• Collaboration: Partner with backend and product teams to deliver requirements accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain Codebase: Improve existing functionality, refactor when needed, and keep technical debt under control.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional mobile development experience
• Strong proficiency in React Native
• TypeScript expertise
• Experience integrating REST APIs
• Experience with mobile state management (Redux)
• Good understanding of mobile performance considerations
• Familiarity with iOS vs. Android platform differences
• Experience shipping apps to production
• Portfolio required: examples of shipped apps, repositories, or concrete feature work
• Applications must be submitted in English (including resume)

Contractor / Setup Requirements

• Able to work full-time remote
• Reside in Europe
• Able to work independently as a contractor
• Overlap with core office hours: 9 AM–1 PM EST
• Quiet home office and reliable infrastructure (high-speed internet + modern computer)
• Willing to travel to the USA or Europe 1–3 times/year (4–8 day average stay) for conferences and annual meetings
