Mobile Developer

Role Overview

Join the team as a Mobile Developer to build, enhance, and support mission-critical mobile applications. The work focuses primarily on public-facing apps for government agencies, especially supporting DHS and TSA.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for legacy native iOS and Android codebases (stability and performance)
Enhance iOS apps using UIKit, Storyboards/XIBs, Auto Layout, and legacy architectural patterns
Enhance Android apps using XML layouts, data binding, RecyclerView, fragments, activities, and compatibility techniques
Design and develop new mobile applications (architecture planning, environment setup, release management)
Maintain DHS/TSA apps with security updates, bug fixes, and performance optimizations
Follow TSA mobile development protocols, documentation standards, and governance processes
Manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, signing, and deployment
Handle deployments through TSA Enterprise App Distribution and manage App Store / Google Play submission processes
Implement and support Firebase services, including push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
Collaborate with product managers, designers, security specialists, QA, and DevOps
Ensure apps meet accessibility standards including Section 508 and platform accessibility guidelines
Use Git for branching, pull requests, and code reviews

Requirements

2–4 years hands-on experience in native iOS and Android development
Strong iOS knowledge: Swift and Objective-C
Strong Android knowledge: Kotlin and Java
Experience supporting legacy mobile UI implementations and maintaining production applications
Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines / automated deployment workflows
Familiarity with Firebase, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and app store submission processes
Active TSA Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one (mandatory)
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud services and RESTful APIs
Prior involvement with TSA/DHS mobile projects
