Mobile Application Developer (React Native)

Overview

Full-time remote role for a Mobile Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure strong performance, user experience, and reliable offline behavior.

Responsibilities

• Develop mobile apps using React Native for iOS and Android
• Design and implement offline-first mobile architecture for limited/no connectivity
• Build and manage offline queue systems for syncing data (CRUD, retries, and conflict resolution)
• Implement robust data synchronization between mobile apps and backend services
• Use local storage solutions for caching and persistence (AsyncStorage, SQLite, Realm, MMKV)
• Optimize app performance, responsiveness, and memory usage
• Partner with backend engineers to design APIs that support offline use cases
• Ensure secure handling of locally stored data, including encryption
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code with proper documentation
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentor junior developers

Requirements

• 4+ years of mobile development experience with strong React Native expertise
• Solid understanding of offline-first principles and mobile data synchronization patterns
• Experience implementing queue-based processing (retry mechanisms, background sync, job queues)
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with REST APIs and/or GraphQL, including handling network failures gracefully
• Hands-on experience with local databases (SQLite, Realm, or similar)
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with state management (Redux, Zustand, MobX, Context API)
• Experience with secure/local persistence patterns beyond basic storage
