Role Overview

Android Engineer (Mobile App Developer) to develop and enhance the native Android experience of GrabJobs’ flagship recruitment platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship new Android features using Kotlin, ensuring quality and performance.
• Build intuitive mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and other financial services.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to simplify complex user journeys and improve UX.
• Integrate backend REST APIs and ensure flows are stable, secure, and reliable across devices and network conditions.
• Optimize performance by reducing crash rates, improving load times and responsiveness, and managing memory.
• Use analytics, user feedback, and production data to identify improvements and ship updates.
• Build AI-assisted mobile experiences that genuinely enhance the user journey.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain code quality and maintainability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android fundamentals and experience deploying production apps.
• Proficiency with modern Android tools/frameworks: Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow.
• Solid understanding of Android architecture components and mobile UX/usability best practices.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and troubleshooting production issues.
• Ability to work independently with high ownership.
• English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Portfolio of shipped apps (GitHub/screenshots/live examples preferred).
