Role overview

Join General Assembly as an MLOps/AI Platform Engineer, acting as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for a reskilling program transitioning Customer Success and Account Management professionals into MLOps and AI Platform Engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Review and validate competencies and learning objectives for the MLOps / AI Platform Engineer pathway, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
Validate technical accuracy of instructional materials, including slide content covering:
- ML pipelines
- Model deployment
- Monitoring
- Governance
Review asynchronous learning assets for technical correctness.
Participate in structured SME review gates and provide feedback to support revisions and ensure high-quality educational content.

Requirements

Python proficiency.
Data engineering foundations.
Fluency with Azure cloud infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with ML pipelines, model deployment, monitoring, and governance at scale.
Azure certifications: AZ-900, AI-900, and DP-100 minimum (with AI-102 preferred).
Familiarity with Azure ML, AI Foundry platform engineering patterns, and model lifecycle management.
Strong DevOps and CI/CD fundamentals for ML workloads.
7+ years software or data engineering experience, including 3+ years in MLOps or ML platform production roles.

Nice to have

Former AI Platform or Azure ML engineer experience at Microsoft, Google, or similar companies.

Work setup

Full remote with flexible hours.
15–20 hours/week for 6–7 weeks.
