About the role
Role overview
Join General Assembly as an MLOps/AI Platform Engineer, acting as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for a reskilling program transitioning Customer Success and Account Management professionals into MLOps and AI Platform Engineering roles.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate competencies and learning objectives for the MLOps / AI Platform Engineer pathway, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Validate technical accuracy of instructional materials, including slide content covering:
- ML pipelines
- Model deployment
- Monitoring
- Governance
- Review asynchronous learning assets for technical correctness.
- Participate in structured SME review gates and provide feedback to support revisions and ensure high-quality educational content.
Requirements
- Python proficiency.
- Data engineering foundations.
- Fluency with Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with ML pipelines, model deployment, monitoring, and governance at scale.
- Azure certifications: AZ-900, AI-900, and DP-100 minimum (with AI-102 preferred).
- Familiarity with Azure ML, AI Foundry platform engineering patterns, and model lifecycle management.
- Strong DevOps and CI/CD fundamentals for ML workloads.
- 7+ years software or data engineering experience, including 3+ years in MLOps or ML platform production roles.
Nice to have
- Former AI Platform or Azure ML engineer experience at Microsoft, Google, or similar companies.
Work setup
- Full remote with flexible hours.
- 15–20 hours/week for 6–7 weeks.
