About the role
Role Overview
As an ML Platform Engineer at Stitch Fix, you’ll build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers machine learning and AI across the organization. You’ll design and support scalable, resilient services and frameworks for ML workflows, including training/deployment, feature engineering/serving, candidate generation, AI agent deployment, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, engineers, business partners) to solve distributed systems and high-impact business challenges at scale.
- Develop and operate platform capabilities that support ML model training, deployment, and serving.
- Improve and maintain existing systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the ML Platform team.
- Drive technical collaboration and contribute to scalable, resilient engineering practices and best practices.
- Provide consultation/support to full-stack data scientists to help them fully leverage the platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience, focused on data, ML, or AI infrastructure.
- Proven ability building scalable, distributed production systems.
- Strong coding and system design skills.
- Proficiency with Python and Golang.
- Experience with big data / web / AI technologies, including at least several of: Kafka, Postgres, Redis, FastAPI, Ray, AnyScale, LangGraph, LangSmith (or similar).
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to simplify complex problems.
