About the role
Role Overview
Mid to Senior Construction Project Manager (Low Voltage) for MGAC’s Critical Environments team. You’ll lead high-visibility projects such as data centers and hospitals as the client’s owner’s representative, helping resolve issues and keep projects on track.
Location & Travel
- Remote work allowed
- Travel 1–2x per month (or as client needs change) from listed locations:
- Ashburn, VA
- Atlanta, GA
- Columbus, OH
- Fort Wayne, IN
- Richmond, VA
Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Independently manage the full scope of projects (and coordinate components of other projects concurrently)
- Mentor and lead teams while managing schedule, scope, and budget
- Lead project risk management, contingency planning, and schedule/budget recovery planning
- Maintain the client’s vision by serving as a trusted partner
Design Management
- Manage design platforms and documentation using Autodesk/Procore (file structure, compliance, schedules, design packages)
- Perform QA/QC of issued drawings
- Coordinate design work across partners (cross-EOR alignment, VE discussions, lessons learned, consistent information sharing)
- Oversee construction administration activities: A&E meetings, submittals/RFIs, site walks, mock-ups, and coordination with EORs, subcontractors, and the GC
- Support change management and cost impact reviews
- Integrate tenant/customer design requirements and act as the primary liaison between PM/CM and A&E partners
Financial & Contract Management
- Ensure timely invoicing and collection
- Identify and secure add-services opportunities
Collaboration & Communication
- Build collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors/GCs, vendors, and internal teams
- Anticipate risks and resolve complex conflicts
- Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction project management experience with strong understanding of building design and construction process
- Bachelor’s/Associate’s (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline
- 2+ years managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals)
- 5+ years of project management experience in telecommunications / low-voltage / fiber optics construction
- MEP experience in ground-up construction is necessary
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills (verbal & written)
