Role overview

Mid to Senior Construction Project Manager (Low Voltage)

MGAC’s Critical Environments team manages construction for projects such as data centers and hospitals as an owner’s representative—resolving issues, managing conflicts, and guiding decisions to keep work on track.

Responsibilities

Project leadership

  • Independently manage the full scope of projects and coordinate components of other efforts
  • Mentor and lead teams, while managing schedule, scope, and budget
  • Lead project risk management and develop contingency and schedule/budget recovery plans
  • Serve as a trusted partner to keep projects aligned with the client’s vision

Design management

  • Manage design platforms and documentation using Autodesk/Procore (file structure, compliance, schedules, design packages, QA/QC of issued drawings)
  • Lead design coordination across partners and drive clarity across EORs
  • Oversee construction administration activities including A&E meetings, submittals/RFIs, site walks, and mock-ups
  • Support change management, cost impact reviews, and design integration while acting as a liaison between PM/CM and A&E partners

Financial & contract management

  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection
  • Identify and secure add-services opportunities

Collaboration & communication

  • Maintain relationships with clients, A&E professionals, GCs/contractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments
  • Anticipate risks and solve complex challenges and conflicts

Requirements

  • 3+ years of construction project management experience with a solid understanding of building design and the construction process
  • Construction-related Bachelor’s/Associate’s or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals)
  • 5+ years focused on project management in telecommunications, low-voltage, and/or fiber optics construction
  • MEP experience in ground-up construction is necessary
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written)
