Role Overview

Mid-Level UI/UX / Product Designer at WillowTree (via Freesistant), joining a remote-first team focused on collaborative product design and inclusive, accessible experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team of Software Engineers, Researchers, Strategists, and Project Managers
  • Co-lead ideation sessions, workshops, demos, and presentations with clients (on-site)
  • Create inclusive, accessible designs for all users
  • Maintain design quality and ensure designs translate accurately into code
  • Produce design artifacts: sketches, wireframes, information architecture (IA), motion design
  • Run usability tests
  • Design pixel-perfect, responsive UI; use common interface patterns to improve UX
  • Ensure content strategy and design are aligned
  • Provide and receive design critique to continuously refine work

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience designing digital products
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design and clear user experience decisions
  • Experience shipping and launching multiple products
  • Experience working in agile environments (e.g., two-week sprints)
  • Ability to present and communicate design decisions effectively to clients and teams
  • Up-to-date proficiency with design tools such as Figma and Sketch
