About the role

Role Overview

Mid-Level Software Engineer to build, maintain, and scale the platform and internal tooling that powers Truvolv. You’ll split time between improving member-facing products and creating net-new internal tools and automations that increase team efficiency.

Responsibilities

Own feature delivery end-to-end (design through release) for:
- Existing product enhancements
- Custom member requests
- Net-new products
Design and build internal tools and automations to improve how Truvolv teams operate
Write clean, maintainable code that follows established patterns; know when deviations are warranted
Build and maintain strong test coverage, including integration tests where needed
Ensure changes meet performance and accessibility standards before shipping
Triage ambiguous problems: propose an approach and drive implementation independently
Review code for junior/associate engineers and provide feedback to raise the technical bar
Create clear documentation that enables others to reproduce and maintain your work
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; adjust messaging by audience
Identify and flag scope/complexity/risk early when issues are higher than expected
Contribute to CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code as engineering operations mature (GitHub Actions, Terraform)
Participate in sprint planning, standups, and technical design discussions with an informed point of view

Requirements

3+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with:
- Next.js
- React
- Node.js
- MongoDB
- TypeScript
Familiarity with Terraform and GitHub Actions (or strong ability to ramp up quickly)
Ability to operate autonomously on net-new work and deliver features with minimal oversight
Proven end-to-end feature delivery experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills; can explain technical tradeoffs
Good judgment around when to escalate scope, complexity, or risk
Comfortable working within an established codebase and following existing conventions

Nice to Have

Experience conducting code reviews for junior/associate engineers
Track record of writing documentation others actually use
Comfort working in ambiguity and structuring fuzzy problems
Interest in internal tooling and process automation
Strong team culture fit (collaborative, low-ego, invested in team success)
Experience contributing to or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
