About the role
Role Overview
Contract developer (Mid-Level) for a remote team in the Americas. You will help ship features and own the mobile release pipeline for an AI training app available on iOS and Android.
Responsibilities
Release & Deployment (Mobile)
- Own the end-to-end iOS release process using App Store Connect and TestFlight: provisioning profiles, certificates, review submissions, phased rollouts, and responding to reviewer feedback.
- Manage Google Play Console releases: internal testing tracks, closed/open testing, production rollouts, and store listing hygiene.
- Maintain and improve mobile CI/CD (e.g., Fastlane, EAS, GitHub Actions or equivalent).
- Handle code signing and credential rotation (Apple/Google).
- Triage production crashes and store-reported issues; coordinate hotfix releases when needed.
- Document the release process to avoid tribal knowledge.
Feature Development
- Build features in the React Native app: screens, navigation flows, forms, data fetching, animations, and native module integrations.
- Contribute to the Express + TypeScript backend: new endpoints, Prisma schema changes, Zod validation, service-layer logic, and tests.
- Ensure mobile/API backwards compatibility so older app versions continue working after backend changes.
- Collaborate on product decisions; push back on over-scoping or under-specification.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Has personally shipped at least one React Native app to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including submission/review/release end-to-end.
- Strong familiarity with App Store Connect (TestFlight, provisioning, certificates, version/build management).
- Working knowledge of Google Play Console release tracks.
- Strong TypeScript across frontend and backend.
- Solid understanding of React Native navigation, state management, and native module integration (CocoaPods, Gradle basics).
- Experience with Node.js/Express and relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL with Prisma or similar ORM).
- Comfortable working asynchronously in a small team with clear written communication.
- Timezone overlap with the Americas (UTC-3 to UTC-8).
Nice to Have
- Fastlane / EAS Build / custom mobile CI/CD experience.
- Experience with RevenueCat, Firebase Cloud Messaging, or wearable integrations (e.g., HealthKi…).
