About the role

Role Overview

Mid-level Java Developer to join an Agile team supporting and expanding a system for an existing government customer. The role involves building, enhancing, and maintaining server-side software systems and applications.

Responsibilities

Research, design, develop, and test software applications, tools, and system components
Perform enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software
Code, test, integrate, deploy, and document software solutions
Work within an established Agile process (Scrum or Kanban)
Support and relate technical issues to management and government personnel

Required Qualifications

3+ years of related experience
Server-side development including:
- Web server configuration for IBM/Apache and IIS
- Web services implementation using SOAP and REST
- SQL database usage, especially MS SQL Server
- XML processing
Development with Java and testing/frameworks/libraries including:
- JUnit, Spring, Hibernate, Log4j
- Agile processes (Scrum or Kanban)
Tooling: NetBeans, Maven, Git, Jira
Experience with software development tools/databases (Java plus related technologies mentioned)
Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and a drive for quality
Excellent written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
US citizenship and ability to complete Public Trust background investigation

Desired Qualifications

Smart card programming experience
SoapUI experience
Experience with Quartz Task Scheduler
.NET programming experience
