Mid Level Front End Engineer

Role Overview

As a Mid-Level Front-End Engineer at Cedar, you’ll build and own the consumer-facing web app that families use to understand whether Cedar can help them get into a home. This role offers the stability of a proven company, along with early-hire ownership and fast decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Own and build the consumer-facing web application in React, TypeScript, and Next.js
• Use AI tooling to ship quickly, and continuously improve those tools
• Validate assumptions and measure work by outcomes; verify AI-assisted changes yourself
• Translate complex financial logic into trustworthy, user-friendly UI
• Partner with design and product from concept through shipped features
• Own features end-to-end (build → release) and improve based on real usage
• Keep a high engineering bar via code reviews, write meaningful tests, and debug to root cause

Requirements

• 3+ years building production web apps with React and TypeScript
• Strong HTML/CSS fundamentals and ability to deliver responsive experiences for mobile
• Experience integrating with APIs (REST or GraphQL)
• Testing is part of your normal workflow
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating closely with product and design
• Excited to push AI tooling further (speed up, not replace, thinking)

Nice to Have

• Good design sense; comfortable working in Figma
• Prior accessibility experience with WCAG

Location / Work Model

• Remote-first, full-time; work from anywhere in the US (some team members around New York City)

Compensation & Benefits

• Total cash: $100K–$150K (base + discretionary bonus) plus significant equity and benefits
