Role Overview

Join GC AI’s Microsoft Office Integrations team as a Member of Technical Staff. You’ll build GC AI for Word, an AI copilot that helps in-house lawyers redline contracts, draft clauses, and spot risks directly inside Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine a Microsoft Word add-in, focusing on latency, reliability, and micro-interactions.
• Architect the integration bridge between the AI backend and the Word document model, including:
  • tracked changes
  • comment threads
• Ship product features such as:
  • playbook-driven reviews
  • clause libraries
  • contextual drafting
• Collaborate with the AI team to integrate model outputs in a way that feels native to the legal workflow.

Impact

• Define UX patterns for AI-assisted contract work.
• Turn contract review workflows from hours to minutes.
• Ship features that drive enterprise adoption and help IT teams approve faster.

Requirements

• 5+ years building production software, ideally rich client/editor experiences.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and React.
• Experience developing embedded applications, such as Microsoft Office Add-ins or VS Code extensions.
• Deep understanding of real-time collaboration patterns and document manipulation.
• Proven record shipping polished, user-facing features.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Office.js and/or Microsoft Graph API.
• Background in legal tech, document automation, or CLM platforms.
• Familiarity with LLM integration patterns and streaming responses.
• Experience using AI coding tools like Cursor or Copilot.
