About the role
Role Overview
Join Bungie as Marathon UI/UX Director, leading the vision and execution for the player interface. You’ll work with other discipline directors, manage the UI/UX discipline, and ensure the quality of the user experience across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the UI/UX vision for Marathon, ensuring alignment with creative and production priorities.
- Lead and manage the UI/UX discipline, holding teams accountable for meeting vision and goals while ensuring quality execution.
- Collaborate with other discipline directors to align on goals, constraints, and execution; build alignment within the director-level leadership group.
- Define and support UI/UX collaboration standards and integration with other disciplines, including User Research.
- Lead efforts to turn ambiguous problem spaces into clear goals, strategies, and tactics using testable hypotheses and metrics tracking.
Requirements
- Proven ability to creatively align and collaborate with director-level discipline leaders to define and break down problem spaces.
- Experience leading UI/UX teams to develop philosophy, process, capabilities, and execution.
- Experience as a UI/UX Director developing and implementing UI/UX vision for large-scale, multiplatform, live-service competitive FPS games.
- Ability to manage the UI/UX discipline, including:
- Defining UI/UX roles and performance expectations
- Leading the hiring process
- Building a high-performing discipline
- Strong depth across UI/UX philosophy, process, design, documentation, and workflows.
- Social intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, with empathy for creative teams.
- Track record of working independently and driving tasks to completion.
- Proactive decision-making and problem solving with focus on broader project impact.
Nice-to-Haves
- Deep understanding of UI/UX integration with User Research and other disciplines’ workflows (explicitly referenced).
