Manufacturing Engineering Manager — Reliability & Automation

Hands-on engineering leadership role for a multi-site manufacturing organization focused on evaluating, improving, and modernizing production equipment.

Location & Logistics

Remote | Multi-site (Georgia & California)
~30% travel

What You’ll Be Doing

Evaluate production equipment across multiple facilities to identify reliability risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
Build and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance strategy
Create and deliver a multi-year capital and modernization roadmap
Drive uptime improvements, scrap reduction, and throughput increases
Standardize engineering and maintenance practices across sites
Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities
Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership to deliver measurable results

Equipment & Environment Supported

Continuous roll-to-roll manufacturing environments
Web handling and tension systems
Coating and lamination lines
Slitting and rewinding systems
Continuous oven and drying processes
PLC-driven automation and drive systems

Requirements

5–10 years experience in manufacturing engineering, reliability, or process engineering in production
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred)
Background in continuous process manufacturing (film, coatings, paper, packaging, textiles)
Ability to assess equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities
Exposure to PLC systems, drives, and industrial automation
Experience supporting or implementing maintenance/reliability programs
Strong problem-solving skills focused on operational impact and ROI

Nice to Have

Experience with CMMS systems
Multi-site manufacturing exposure
Capital project or equipment upgrade experience
