About the role
Role Overview
The Manager, Store Lifecycle provides critical leadership to deliver end-to-end store lifecycle initiatives—including openings, closures, remodels/renovations, and repositions. The role partners with Brand Operations and a wide range of business teams to ensure on-time execution, store readiness, and successful transference results (including cross-brand referrals).
Responsibilities
Strategic Project & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Manage lifecycle projects from kickoff through completion, driving timelines, decisions, readiness, and minimal disruption to improve customer and team member experience.
- Align scope, roles, and dependencies across multiple business partners.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams including: Brand Operations, Field Leadership, Real Estate, Procurement, IT, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, HR, Loss Prevention, Distribution, Inventory Control, Digital, and others.
- Build and manage integrated project and communication plans.
- Provide concise status updates, manage risks and issues, and escalate concerns in a timely manner.
- Lead and/or attend cross-functional meetings (e.g., Real Estate, Store Planning/Design, Repair & Maintenance, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Procurement, Finance, HR, Loss Prevention, Distribution), representing a field operations perspective.
Lifecycle Execution
- Lead end-to-end field execution strategy for store opening/reopening readiness meetings (e.g., playbooks, checklists, training, merchandising, technology, signage, supplies).
- Ensure readiness and successful brand operations go-live, including hypercare support.
- Establish lifecycle operating cadence: kickoffs, readiness checkpoints, pre-construction calls, go/no-go reviews, post-event retrospectives.
- Approve lifecycle readiness standards and collateral (playbooks, checklists, field communications, toolkits) to ensure accuracy, alignment, and adoption.
- Own lifecycle change management for field-facing communications—clear, timely, and tailored to impacted audiences.
Store Closures & Remodels/Repos
- Oversee store closure execution (permanent, emergency, temporary), including:
- team member and customer communications
- inventory/asset disposition
- utilities/security
- final-condition requirements
- mitigate risk with brand district managers and support timely reopening once operational steps are complete.
- Manage operational execution for remodels/renovations/repositions (phasing, temporary closures, safety, customer flow, labor, and related execution planning).
Requirements
- Experience leading cross-functional lifecycle/store execution projects end-to-end (kickoff to completion).
- Ability to drive timelines, readiness, and go/no-go decisions with minimal disruption.
- Strong coordination and change management skills for field teams and business partners.
- Ability to represent a field operations perspective in cross-functional forums.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with store planning/design, repair & maintenance, visual merchandising, procurement, IT enablement, and loss prevention processes.
- Experience with store closure and transition planning (communications, inventory/asset disposition, utilities/security, readiness standards).
