Role Overview

Engineering Manager for Care Solutions (US-based). Lead and grow multiple full-stack and backend teams responsible for a digital health management platform, combining technical leadership with people management to drive measurable impact.

Responsibilities

People and Performance Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop 2 teams (8–10 engineers each) across full-stack, backend, and cloud migration.
  • Run regular 1:1s, drive performance reviews, and own career development planning from junior through staff levels.
  • Foster a growth mindset and encourage adoption of AI tools and agentic AI workflows to improve productivity and engineering velocity.
  • Hire, onboard, and retain talent aligned with HealthEdge values.
  • Provide hands-on technical mentorship and guidance.

Technical Leadership

  • Own technical strategy and architectural decisions with architects and senior engineers.
  • Oversee design and implementation of scalable, robust solutions across Microsoft and Java ecosystems, including cloud migration to AWS.
  • Ensure code quality and engineering best practices through code reviews, technical governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess fit for the Care Solutions roadmap.

Project Management and Delivery

  • Prioritize and manage timelines across multiple teams to deliver on schedule without sacrificing quality.
  • Break down initiatives into milestones; proactively manage dependencies and risks.
  • Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
  • Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and infrastructure for seamless integration and delivery.
  • Establish and track engineering metrics; drive operational excellence.
  • Manage on-call rotations and incident response; balance feature delivery, technical debt, and platform stability.
  • Coordinate across US and India teams to manage time zones and enable knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Experience

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years as an engineering manager.
  • 5+ years technical expertise as an individual contributor.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Experience with Microsoft and Java ecosystems.
  • Strong JavaScript skills and modern front-end frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and data modeling.
  • Cloud expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Engineering best practices: automated tests, CI/CD.
  • Experience leading Agile/Scrum ceremonies and delivering from inception to release.
  • Experience managing distributed/multi-geography teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with cloud migration programs and multi-team platform modernization initiatives.
  • Practical familiarity with AI tooling to improve engineering workflows.
