Manager of Solutions Architects (US East)

Role Overview

Join GitLab as Manager of Solutions Architects for the Financial Services team. You will lead a distributed team of Solutions Architects and guide them to act as trusted technical advisors for Financial Services prospects and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a distributed team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects
• Hire, coach, and retain high-performing team members
• Ensure quality and consistency in technical evaluations and demos
• Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, supporting validation of GitLab’s solutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with regional sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to align technical and commercial strategies

Requirements

• Experience managing or leading technical pre-sales/IT professionals (enterprise-focused preferred)
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and how they impact customer outcomes
• Experience mentoring and developing technical team members (constructive feedback)
• Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle and modern development/ops practices
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, technologies, and common adoption patterns
• Ability to collaborate with other managers and cross-functional partners on sales and go-to-market execution
• Strong technical presentation and communication skills across technical and business stakeholders
• Willingness to travel as needed and openness to learning GitLab and related tools
