About the role
Role Overview
Join Bugcrowd as a Manager of Engineering for the AI and Data Science team. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role where you will set technical direction, manage a high-performing team, and drive the development of an AI-driven preemptive cybersecurity product.
Key Missions
- Define and direct the technical roadmap for AI/ML and data systems, overseeing development, implementation, and operationalization.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle from design to implementation of robust data pipelines, scalable model training, and innovative AI/ML applications.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of AI/ML systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Establish best-in-class MLOps practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Data Engineering, including 2+ years in a technical leadership/team lead role.
- Proven experience leading teams to build and deploy end-to-end ML pipelines (data ingestion → training → deployment → monitoring/MLOps).
- Strong communication skills; ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction; can present to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to design, manage, and govern secure, data-driven architectures for large-scale, multi-tenant, high-security environments.
- Strong architectural understanding of LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, MLOps, and secure API integration with AI systems.
- Deep expertise in Python and AWS services: S3, Lambda, Batch, Glue, Bedrock, Step Functions, Redshift.
- Experience deploying and operating AI solutions in regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC 2).
- Deep knowledge of offensive security workflows (bug bounty, vulnerability research, red teaming) and associated datasets.
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related quantitative field.
