Manager - Engineering

Role Overview

Wendy’s is looking for a Technical Engineering Manager to oversee the design and development of the Wendy’s technology stacks. The role focuses on improving stability and reducing technology complexity, while providing architecture and product development thought leadership in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects using Agile to deliver POC and production-ready solutions
• Design highly scalable capabilities across areas such as:
  • mobile, kiosk, point-of-sale, payment
  • audio, back-office, analytics, IoT (and more)
• Use a mix of on-site and remote resources to execute engineering work
• Ensure engineering best practices, including:
  • unit/functional testing
  • code reviews
  • CI
  • design documentation and review
• Collaborate with business analysts and key stakeholders to:
  • verify requirements
  • develop implementation plans
• Prioritize and manage workload in an Agile/Kanban setting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or 6 years equivalent experience
• 5+ years of platform, cloud, or software engineering experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
• Experience working on an Agile/Kanban team
• Solid understanding of the SDLC
• 2+ years managing engineers (a plus)

Work Location / Travel

• Primarily remote work
• May require travel to Wendy’s Restaurant Support Center (RSC) in Dublin, OH as needed
