About the role
Role Overview
As a Design Manager (UX Strategy) at Think Company, you’ll lead and grow a team of 8–10 designers delivering UX and product design across complex digital products and services. You’ll coach talent, improve design quality, and act as a strategic partner on client projects—especially as AI increasingly influences design practice.
Location & Work Model
- Remote-first (U.S. – East Coast)
- Occasional travel for client engagements, workshops, and company gatherings
- Periodic in-person meetings in Philadelphia
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop designers across career stages
- Shape growth through feedback, career pathing, and development conversations
- Guide delivery of thoughtful, high-quality UX and product design
- Serve as a strategic advisor to client teams navigating ambiguity and complexity
- Partner with leadership on staffing, team health, and delivery quality across projects
- Hire and onboard to build a strong, well-rounded design team
- Advance design practices, including how AI tools are applied in research, design, and delivery
What You Bring
- Experience coaching/mentoring designers into stronger practitioners
- Track record driving career growth via structured feedback and progression planning
- Strong foundation in UX strategy and/or product design, with hands-on delivery experience
- Ability to lead work across multiple projects and client contexts
- Confidence operating as a client-facing strategic partner
- Clear, constructive communication and ability to balance team advocacy with business/client needs
Nice-to-Haves
- Consultancy or agency experience
- Familiarity with media, telecom, healthcare/pharma
- Experience helping teams adopt new tools, methods, or ways of working
