Role Overview

Join Lighthouse as a Manager / Architect of Engineering to lead an engineering team responsible for a key domain within the product suite. You’ll combine people leadership with hands-on architecture and engineering, shaping team ways of working while contributing to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an engineering team, fostering technical excellence and career growth
• Coach and mentor team members and support their development
• Define and execute the development roadmap for your domain
• Collaborate with product management and design to shape and deliver the roadmap
• Make architectural decisions and design complex features
• Serve as the technical go-to person for your domain
• Contribute hands-on as an engineer when needed
• Use AI to streamline team processes and improve product exploration
• Facilitate and improve team processes

Requirements

• Proven people leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; fluency in English
• Frontend experience with TypeScript and at least one of React or Ember
• Deep hands-on backend experience designing and building scalable APIs, services, and product systems
• Professional backend proficiency in Python, with experience in Django (or equivalent backend experience in Go)
• Experience in data-heavy product domains and/or hospitality technology
• Ability to break down large architecture initiatives into manageable tasks
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• Experience using AI tools to optimize processes and speed up exploration
