Maintenance Fitter

Role

Maintenance Fitter (2 positions) for a food manufacturing site in Bendigo.

Shifts

• Sunday to Friday shift: starts 11pm Sunday, ends 7:30am Friday.
• 7-on / 7-off rotation for a month: 6am–6pm then rotates to night shift for a month: 6pm–6am.

Primary Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble pumps.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Service and overhaul gearboxes.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive and corrective maintenance
• Breakdown response and fault finding
• Equipment setup and adjustments
• Safety and compliance
• Continuous improvement
• Documentation and reporting
• Team support and training
• General workshop duties

Equipment/Systems

• Multivac, Mondini, Dematic systems
• Robots
• Bosch vacuum pumps

Requirements

• Strong mechanical skills
• Ideally experience in food manufacturing / FMCG
• Ability to problem-solve in a high-pressure food processing environment
• Experience with disassembly/reassembly and servicing of gearboxes
• Experience diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Nice to Have

• Machining skills
• Welding skills (not essential)
• Open to heavy vehicle / HD fitter backgrounds if core mechanical skills are strong

First 6 Months Priorities

• Master pump disassembly/assembly
• Diagnose and resolve pneumatics/hydraulics issues
• Service and overhaul gearboxes to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency

Compensation (as stated)

• Annualised $50–51 per hour paid bi-weekly including penalties and loading
• Earn up to $150k with overtime
• Meal breaks paid
• Tools paid
• 5 weeks annual leave
