Machine Learning Manager

Role Overview

As a Machine Learning Manager at Talos, you will lead a team of ML engineers, driving their growth and performance while partnering closely with the software engineering team to deliver impact in the energy sector.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the ML team: manage hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development; provide clarity, support, and room for growth.
• Improve team execution: build and maintain team rituals and structures (e.g., prioritization frameworks, sprint cadences, and feedback loops).
• Remove blockers and manage risks: act as a sounding board for ML engineers, surface risks, and create space for expert decision-making.

Requirements

• Experience leading and growing ML engineering teams (management, performance, and career development).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective engineering/team processes and cadences.
• Strong collaboration with software engineering counterparts and a proactive approach to risk management.

• Domain familiarity with the energy market and/or sustainability-focused initiatives.
