Machine Learning Engineering Manager (Ads Conversion Modeling)

Role overview

Join Reddit as a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead the Conversion Modeling team. You will set the team’s vision and technical strategy and drive the roadmap for ML models that improve user conversions from Reddit Ads.

Responsibilities

• Define the team’s vision and set strategic direction for conversion modeling.
• Own the technical roadmap for conversion modeling at Reddit.
• Oversee the model lifecycle end-to-end: from ideation through deployment, ensuring strong ML performance and robustness.
• Build and scale the team: recruit, mentor, and retain top ML talent.
• Foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on ML expertise, including training, evaluating, and deploying large-scale models.
• Experience managing engineering teams (at least 2+ years managing high-performing ML teams; tech lead experience may be considered).
• Ads conversion modeling experience (plus) and strong technical domain knowledge including:
  • Ads conversion modeling
  • Ranking experience (heavy ranker experience)
  • Recommendations experience (required)
• Communication and collaboration skills to explain complex technical topics to cross-functional partners.
• Strategic thinking: ability to develop and communicate a clear technical strategy aligned with company objectives.

Nice to have

• Prior Ads conversion modeling experience (explicitly called out as a plus).
