Machine Learning Engineer

Role Overview

Machine Learning Engineer (AI Staff) specializing in Generative AI, Machine Learning, Graph ML, and Big Data. You will help build AI platforms and solutions for Extreme’s flagship networking products, including real-time, multi-agent systems that perceive, learn, and act.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development of machine learning solutions (concept → deployment → operations)
• Design and implement high-performance, scalable microservices (synchronous and asynchronous services)
• Build real-time online inference systems for complex models using Triton, TensorRT, and mixed-precision techniques
• Drive ML innovation aligned with business goals and product requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI into existing and new products
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
• Participate in code reviews, drive technical discussions, and establish best practices for operational excellence and system resilience

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
• 5–14 years experience across the full software development lifecycle (design, coding, testing, deployment, operations)
• Proficiency in Python and knowledge of advanced features/libraries
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, especially with FastAPI
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices
• 3+ years leading the design/architecture of large distributed systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Demonstrated leadership experience (mentor, tech lead, or engineering manager)

Nice-to-Have / Context

• Experience with high-performance inference stacks and large-scale distributed systems
• Strong focus on AI platform development and operational reliability
