Machine Learning Engineer

Role Overview

You’ll build production machine learning algorithms and recommendation systems to help learners discover relevant content and receive timely, tailored communication and support.

Responsibilities

• Work with Data Scientists to turn prototype algorithms/models into customer-facing solutions
• Build ML solutions spanning software development, data engineering, and machine learning
• Design and maintain data pipelines to transform data streams into model-ready structures
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to inform functional design and usability
• Evaluate ML algorithm and user-experience efficiency; identify needed data and how to collect it
• Deploy ML models as scalable services in production

Requirements

• 5+ years (or 3+ years with an advanced degree) of related/equivalent experience
• Experience building production machine learning systems in a product development team
• Proficiency in Python and TensorFlow
• Strong data structures and database fundamentals
• Ability to explain ML solutions to developers and non-technical team members
• CI/CD experience
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deploying ML models
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of software design patterns and RESTful API design

Nice-to-haves

• Experience applying ML to recommendations and/or personalization
• Experience with Node and TypeScript (preferred)

Remote / Location Policy

• Remote role, with onsite expectation for candidates within 45 miles of the Westlake/Dallas, TX office: onsite Tuesday–Thursday, remote flexibility Monday and Friday.
