Role overview

Join Cohere Health as a Machine Learning Engineer (1-3 years experience). The ML team designs, deploys, and monitors production models that extract and predict relevant clinical findings from structured and unstructured data to help automate administrative clinical practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze healthcare data to independently design, develop, and deliver clinical ML models.
• Build reliable, scalable production machine learning systems.
• Perform feature engineering, statistical analysis, and model performance optimization (including improving model runtime).
• Develop and evaluate novel ML techniques.
• Work cross-functionally with product managers, statisticians, clinicians, and clinical analysts.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of full-time professional ML experience.
• MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with modern language models, including context engineering for LLMs or fine-tuning SLMs.
• Knowledge of scientific best practices for experimental design, including independent data collection, measurement, and interpretation.
• Experience configuring, training, evaluating, deploying, and maintaining models in production.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and familiarity with PyTorch.

Pay & benefits

• $95,000–$115,000 USD annually.
