MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER II (REMOTE)

Role Overview

Machine Learning Engineer II (Remote) joining a product team to contribute across the software design, algorithm design, and full product lifecycle. You’ll work collaboratively—pairing daily with UX, engineering, and product management—to deliver secure, reliable, scalable ML solutions used by customers.

Responsibilities

• Delivery & Execution (65%)
  • Collaborate and pair with product team members to build ML solutions.
  • Ensure quality and change control standards are met (document/review code).
  • Create user stories that are developer-ready, understandable, and testable.
  • Write custom code/scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases.
  • Perform destructive testing to validate production resiliency.
  • Handle configuration/modification for large projects using HD-approved methodology.
  • Configure commercial off-the-shelf solutions as business needs evolve.
  • Build dashboards, logging, alerting, and response processes to proactively address issues.
• Learning (15%)
  • Participate in communities of practice and learn modern software/ML best practices.
• Support & Enablement (20%)
  • Field questions from other product/support teams and promote cross-team collaboration.
  • Support production applications and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Review performance & capacity across code, infrastructure, data, message processing, and prediction quality.
  • (Possible) customer outreach and creation of ML educational materials; data engineering work may be included.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience developing, training, and deploying ML models in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks/tools such as Python and scikit-learn (cut off in posting).
