Role Overview

Machine Learning Engineer at Instacart, shaping the future of marketplace systems. You’ll build machine learning solutions to improve recommendations, delivery routes, and search relevance, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and personalization for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models for recommendations, search, and logistics
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, and product leaders to apply ML to business challenges
• Deploy scalable ML models to production, ensuring reliability and performance
• Monitor model performance and iterate based on feedback and new real-world data
• Maintain and improve data pipelines to ensure data quality for training and evaluation
• Stay current with ML/AI advancements and apply best practices
• Document modeling processes and provide technical guidance to team members and stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• Proven experience developing and deploying ML models in production
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems collaboratively
• Strong communication skills; can explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
