Machine Learning Engineer (Embedded Insights)

Role Overview

Join Plaid’s Embedded Insights team as a Machine Learning Engineer. You’ll take machine learning initiatives from concept through production, using Plaid’s unique datasets to find high-impact opportunities and ship scalable, customer-facing products.

Key Missions

• Lead end-to-end machine learning model development (design to production).
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to turn successful prototypes into scalable products.
• Maintain and improve existing ML systems by building capabilities, creating retraining strategies, and implementing robust monitoring frameworks.

Requirements

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization/analysis tools.
• 5+ years of machine learning experience, including deploying models into real-world, customer-facing systems.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical systems and decision-making.
• Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Ability to analyze large, complex financial datasets to derive insights.
• Strong ownership/agency and creativity in identifying, defining, and proposing high-impact ML opportunities.
