About the role
Role Overview
The Legal Counsel serves as a trusted legal advisor to Synergie Medical Collective’s business and operational teams. The position focuses on commercial contracting, healthcare regulatory compliance, privacy matters, and legal risk management.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer commercial agreements including:
- Pharmaceutical manufacturer rebate agreements
- Value-based arrangements
- Technology agreements
- NDAs and DUAs
- Consulting agreements and vendor contracts
- Pharmacy participation agreements
- Develop and improve contract playbooks and templates and negotiation standards
- Advise business stakeholders with routine legal work product (contracts, licensing, and related matters)
- Assess legal and regulatory risk for day-to-day legal, regulatory, and compliance issues under supervision
- Monitor legislative and regulatory activity and advise on interpretation, application, and implementation of new healthcare requirements
- Support dispute resolution, audits, risk assessments, investigations, corporate trainings, and regulatory inquiry responses
- Partner with internal teams (e.g., IT, Analytics, Compliance, Licensing, Operations, Finance)
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 7+ years of related experience (e.g., law firm, health plan, PBM, GPO, pharmaceutical manufacturer, or related healthcare organization)
- Active attorney license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (state-dependent)
- Advanced skills in legal research, drafting, communication, organization, and project management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Broad healthcare contracting experience, including pharmaceutical rebate contracting
- Knowledge of the state/federal healthcare regulatory environment and PBM/GPO operations
Preferred
- Direct experience supporting pharmacy/medical rebate contracting and healthcare compliance and/or privacy programs
- Familiarity with government healthcare programs and privacy laws

Compensation
- $167,900 – $222,400 (annual) plus eligibility for annual bonus incentive pay.
