About the role

Join Seqera, a fast-growing company in the life sciences and biotech sector, as a full-time in-house Legal Counsel. You will handle day-to-day legal work, primarily focusing on contracts, and build systems to support the company's growth. You will report to the fractional Head of Legal and work closely with various departments, including Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, IT & Compliance, and People. Key missions: Assumer la responsabilité de la rédaction, de la révision et de la négociation des contrats commerciaux, en particulier des accords SaaS, des contrats de partenariat et des contrats de fournisseur.. Mettre en place et gérer le cycle de vie des contrats, y compris la gestion d'un référentiel unique, le contrôle des versions, le suivi des renouvellements et des expirations.. Collaborer avec les équipes interfonctionnelles pour fournir des conseils juridiques pragmatiques et orientés vers les affaires sur l'interprétation des contrats et les risques associés. Profile: - Experience in a startup, scale-up, or international business environment with venture capital experience is highly preferred - Fast and responsive. Deals wait on legal more than on any other function, and you know what that costs - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - Practical, solutions-driven, and low ego - Hands-on commercial contracting experience, ideally within SaaS, tech or high-growth environments. You have negotiated these agreements yourself - Highly organized with a process-oriented mindset - Business partner first, not just a gatekeeper - Qualified to practise law in a relevant jurisdiction - 3-6 years of post-qualification experience (in-house tech/SaaS and/or private practice) - Comfortable asking for help on matters outside your experience, and quick to escalate - Commercially minded with a strong ability to balance risk and opportunity - Autonomous and proactive, with strong ownership - Builder mentality: you enjoy creating structure where none exists - Working knowledge of GDPR - Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making pragmatic decisions quickly - Exposure to at least one area beyond contracting (privacy, corporate, IP or compliance), and the appetite to pick up the rest - Hands-on and execution-focused, with a willingness to build from scratch - Familiarity with legal tech, CLMs, and AI-enabled workflows - Exposure to life sciences, biotech, or data-driven platforms - Experience supporting global, distributed teams
