About the role

Lead Software Engineer (Key Technical Architect)

You’ll be the technical architect and delivery leader across multiple client engagements at Very, ensuring software design and implementation align with customer goals and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Serve as the key technical architect across multiple client engagements, aligning technical strategy to measurable business outcomes
Lead architecture design across frontend, backend, and cloud/infrastructure layers (AWS & Azure)
Contribute hands-on by writing production-grade code and setting the bar for engineering excellence
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Hardware, Data Science, and Design to deliver end-to-end connected/AI product ecosystems
Partner with commercial teams on pre-sales: technical scoping and estimation for Statements of Work (SOW)
Establish standards for coding, CI/CD, testing, and deployment to enable predictable, high-quality delivery
Identify and mitigate risks to ensure delivery under real deadlines

Requirements

Strong technical leadership and delivery experience on complex, multi-faceted projects
Executive presence with client stakeholders and accountability/ownership for delivery
Ability to plan and lead across the full software stack (full-stack scope is emphasized for lead)

Nice-to-haves

Experience delivering connected hardware and/or data systems alongside software
Experience partnering with commercial/pre-sales teams for scoping and estimation
