Lead Software Engineer

Role Overview

Ten Mile Square Technologies is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to lead a remote-first team of full-stack developers. The initial engagement is greenfield development of a loan origination system for an established financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery by managing a team that includes engineers, an SDET, and a DevOps Architect
• Design and build a telephony integration system using:
  • Node.js
  • Apollo GraphQL and GraphQL subgraphs
  • Angular or React (some frontend work required)
  • AWS services including EKS, Lambda, S3, MSK, Aurora
• Define and enforce engineering best practices for:
  • code quality
  • testing strategies
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • AWS deployment workflows
• Contribute to and promote Agile practices (plan sprints, backlog grooming, execution)
• Translate business needs with client/product teams into requirements, epics, stories, and tasks
• Mentor developers; support technical decision-making with principal engineers
• Ensure quality and accessibility of technical documentation
• Collaborate with the Ten Mile team on development and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 2+ years as a tech lead
• 3+ years as a senior software engineer
• 7+ years software development, including:
  • 3 years TypeScript
  • Node.js
• GraphQL experience (including working with a federated graph schema/community of practice)
• AWS development and deployment experience
• SQL expertise
• Frontend framework working knowledge in at least one of:
  • Angular, Ionic, React, Vue
• Full application stack experience (front-end to persistence)
• Participated across full software lifecycle (requirements through post-implementation)
• Linux command line working knowledge
• Self-motivated problem identification and resolution; detail-oriented and high integrity
• Strong communication with team and clients
