Lead Software Engineer

Role Overview

As the Lead Software Engineer (your first senior technical hire), you will be the primary architect of P+B’s technology. This is both a technical and strategic role: you’ll partner with the CEO to translate high-level ideas into shippable products, document workflows, and modernise legacy systems while evolving existing AI-driven tools into a world-class technical stack.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead technical architect for the company’s technology direction
• Document workflows and architect core systems from the ground up
• Evolve and modernise current AI-driven systems and legacy components
• Partner with the CEO to bridge strategy and execution
• Set technical culture and standards for what gets built next

Requirements

• Strong foundational background in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
• Experience designing scalable, high-performance systems and applying design patterns
• Full-stack fluency across front-end, databases, and the ability to select appropriate tools

AI/LLM & Technical Stack (Expected)

• Backend & Infra: Node.js, Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, GraphQL, Vercel, AWS, CI/CD, PostHog
• Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn/ui, Storybook, PlateJS, SlateJS
• AI/LLM: Hands-on use of AI tools/APIs to automate workflows or enhance products (e.g., OpenAI API, Claude API, LangGraph, LangSmith, RAG, Prompt Engineering, Agentic AI)
