Role Overview

Lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution for Impiricus’ digital healthcare platform. You’ll be a hands-on engineering leader building scalable, high-performance software across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, and AI-powered capabilities, while mentoring engineers and setting engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture

• Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using Python and cloud-native architectures.
• Build modern full-stack applications and internal platforms using React/Next.js.
• Create secure, reliable, high-performance systems that support product innovation and long-term scalability.
• Lead development of data pipelines, asynchronous workflows, third-party integrations, and AI/LLM-powered features (e.g., prompt orchestration and intelligent automation).
• Drive engineering excellence across:
  • code quality, testing, observability
  • CI/CD, performance optimization
  • infrastructure improvements for scalability and developer productivity.
• Make architectural decisions balancing business needs, scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.

Technical Leadership

• Own complex cross-functional initiatives from architecture/design through deployment and operations.
• Mentor engineers via technical coaching, design/code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Define engineering standards, scalable design patterns, and development best practices; promote continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and guide platform evolution.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and business stakeholders to translate objectives into scalable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics to improve platform performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Execute strategic platform initiatives while identifying technical risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in backend or full-stack development.
• Expert proficiency in Python and modern backend technologies, including building scalable APIs and distributed systems.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience spanning backend + frontend, cloud-native architectures, and AI/LLM-powered application development (including prompt orchestration/automation).
• Strong emphasis on engineering excellence practices (testing, observability, CI/CD, performance tuning).
