About the role

Role Overview

Join Zeta Global as a Lead Software Engineer (Identity) to design APIs and event-driven services for identity resolution. You will scale backend systems for high-volume signal processing and modernize the platform for resilience, transparency, and performance.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

Design and build backend services and APIs for identity resolution, graph transparency, and integrations.
Develop and optimize event-driven pipelines/workflows processing billions of signals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver end-to-end identity solutions.
Influence architecture and roadmap while mentoring engineers.
Help deliver large-scale, multi-tenant distributed systems supporting real-time and streaming use cases.

Requirements

Strong skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with expertise in APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
Hands-on experience with Kafka (or similar) and Spark/Hive/Flink.
Experience with workflow schedulers such as Airflow or Luigi.
Solid knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and AWS.
5+ years of backend and/or data engineering experience at scale.
Familiarity with columnar / NoSQL databases (e.g., Aerospike, Snowflake, HBase, Scylla, Couchbase).
Proficiency with Kubernetes (preferably EKS) and deployment practices (Helm, service meshes).
Strong communication skills; track record of driving technical direction and mentoring.
Exposure to real-time streaming frameworks (e.g., Flink, Storm).
Knowledge of open table formats: Iceberg, Hudi, Delta Lake.
Background relevant to security, compliance, or privacy in identity systems.
