About the role
Role Overview
Lead Software Engineer specializing in Go (Golang) to build a next-generation High-Speed Data Observability & Orchestration Pipeline for a SaaS platform processing 100M+ transactions and terabytes of data daily. You will lead a team to prototype, design, and deliver highly scalable, low-latency distributed systems.
Responsibilities
- Architect & lead the Data Highway Platform with scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant designs in Go (with auxiliary Java services).
- Build event-driven distributed messaging pipelines using Kafka and NATS for real-time data flow.
- Lead architectural vision for high-throughput microservices, enforcing performance, scalability, and security standards.
- Design AI-driven components that integrate AI models into real-time pipeline flows for automated decisions and data orchestration.
- Enable AI/ML infrastructure to analyze, route, and enrich high-throughput streaming data.
- Serve as a hands-on technical lead: write idiomatic, well-tested, concurrent, optimized Go code.
- Drive engineering quality via code reviews, standardizing Go practices (linting, benchmarking, testing), and mentoring engineers.
- Build high-performance REST APIs and gRPC/event-driven services.
- Perform performance tuning using profiling and tracing (e.g., pprof, trace), focusing on memory, concurrency, load balancing, and caching.
- Architect self-healing distributed systems for failure detection, backpressure management, and zero-downtime availability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building SaaS products.
- 4+ years hands-on experience with Go (Golang) for high-concurrency, distributed systems.
- Advanced Go knowledge: Go internals, standard library, concurrency primitives, memory management, profiling/benchmarking (e.g., pprof).
- Experience with event-driven messaging middleware such as Kafka or NATS (also mentions JMS as an example).
- Strong background with MySQL and in-memory caches (Redis / Memcached). NoSQL/distributed DBs are a plus.
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure), plus Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, secure coding practices, and distributed systems security mitigations.
- Bachelor's/Master’s/Doctorate in CS/Engineering or related field.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Java or Python.
- Experience with NoSQL/distributed databases.
Notes
- Remote (United States), direct hire.
- No visa sponsorship and not open to third-party employers.
