Lead Software Engineer (Full-stack)

Role Overview

Lead Software Engineer (Full-Stack) at Impiricus. You will drive the technical vision, architecture, and hands-on execution for a digital healthcare platform, partnering with Product, Design, and Data to deliver secure, reliable technology and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Software Development & Architecture

  • Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using Python and cloud-native architectures.
  • Build modern full-stack applications and internal platforms using React/Next.js.
  • Create secure, reliable, high-performance systems supporting both rapid innovation and long-term scalability.
  • Develop data pipelines, asynchronous workflows, third-party integrations, and AI/LLM-powered capabilities (including prompt orchestration and intelligent automation).
  • Drive engineering excellence across code quality, testing, observability, CI/CD, performance optimization, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Make key architectural decisions balancing business needs, scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.

• Technical Leadership

  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives from architecture/design through deployment and operations.
  • Mentor engineers via technical coaching, design/code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices; promote continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide technical planning and platform evolution.
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, and business stakeholders to translate objectives into scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to improve platform performance, scalability, and UX.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs while executing strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in backend or full-stack development.
• Expert proficiency in Python and modern backend technologies; strong experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.

Nice-to-haves / Additional signals (from description)

• Experience with React/Next.js full-stack development.
• Experience building data pipelines, async workflows, integrations, and AI/LLM features (e.g., prompt orchestration).
