Lead Software Engineer (Frontend)

Join Cars Commerce’s Marketplace Engineering team to help revitalize customer-facing tooling across the cars.com platform. You’ll help define and execute a comprehensive technical strategy to simplify and amplify user experiences that support buying and selling cars at scale.

Role Overview

Build and evolve a trusted automotive marketplace experience for buyers and sellers.
Drive meaningful platform changes across the cars.com website and mobile app experiences.
Create Full Stack solutions that enable frictionless experiences throughout the automotive ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Lead frontend development efforts for marketplace experiences used by millions of customers.
Partner on end-to-end technical strategy, including frontend deep expertise with exposure to backend.
Design and build innovative, intuitive services that improve user experience.
Drive scalable improvements across web and mobile-associated user journeys.

Requirements

Deep expertise in frontend technologies.
Exposure to backend capabilities.
Strong interest in thoughtful user experience design.
Ability to build user-impacting, innovative services.

Location & Work Setup

Remote: 100% remote in the Chicago area.
May require onsite interviews.
