Role overview

As a Lead Software Engineer at Faculty, you will spearhead backend and edge/IoT engineering for high-stakes Defence projects. You’ll lead and mentor a dedicated engineering squad and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML into the software architecture.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a squad of engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable software
Design and build complex components across backend and edge/IoT domains
Implement robust CI/CD processes and containerisation strategies using Docker and Kubernetes

Work model / location

Full remote option within the UK, or flexibility to work from the London office

Requirements

Experience leading/mentoring engineers and delivering scalable software
Strong backend and edge/IoT engineering background
Practical experience implementing CI/CD and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes

Nice-to-haves

Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into software architectures (defence domain experience would be a strong plus)
