About the role

Role Overview

Lead Software Engineer (Front End) — Individual Contributor. You’ll provide technical leadership for complex, high-impact front-end initiatives, shaping technical direction, best practices, and mentoring an agile front-end engineering team.

Responsibilities

Set the front-end technical vision aligned with product goals and guide the team
Lead technical design discussions and contribute to scalable front-end architecture
Design, develop, and deploy modern front-end solutions from conception to launch
Participate in agile ceremonies and drive sprint delivery and process improvement
Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to define requirements and provide technical insights
Write user stories/requirements support and ensure seamless integration of solutions
Establish and enforce coding standards, architectural patterns, and quality practices
Perform thorough code reviews for quality and knowledge sharing
Mentor front-end engineers and foster a collaborative environment
Troubleshoot complex issues, mitigate technical risks, and help ensure on-time delivery
Maintain clear, accessible documentation
Stay current with tech trends and identify opportunities to improve process and stack

Requirements

Strong technical leadership with ability to set vision and guide engineers
Deep understanding of Agile and the software development lifecycle
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
Demonstrated mentoring ability
Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalability
Expert front-end knowledge, including:
- JavaScript runtime technologies
- React and React Router
- Front-end accessibility
- Front-end performance concepts
- Agile coding standards, testing practices
Strong proficiency in programming languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS

Nice to Have / Additional Skills

Experience with Deno
Front-end testing frameworks: Vitest and Playwright
CI/CD pipeline knowledge
Experience with Git and tooling such as Bitbucket and TeamCity
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
Docker experience
Comfortable with Visual Studio Code and Chrome DevTools
