Lead Software Developer

Role Overview

Insight Global is hiring a Lead Software Developer (Remote, Permanent) to guide the front-end engineering direction for a high-traffic web platform. You’ll serve as the technical owner of the React/TypeScript front-end ecosystem, setting architecture standards and driving best practices while also contributing hands-on full-stack work.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end architecture standards for a large-scale production React/TypeScript ecosystem
• Lead code reviews, provide performance feedback, and mentor two front-end developers
• Collaborate with product, back-end, and DevOps teams
• Contribute hands-on work across the stack:
  • Build/maintain PHP services using OOP and MVC patterns (Laravel/Symfony preferred)
  • Support MySQL schema design and query optimization
• Partner on API design (REST and/or GraphQL)
• Help scale and optimize application performance and influence longer-term technical strategy

Requirements (Must Haves)

• 10+ years overall software development experience with heavy front-end focus
• Expert-level ReactJS and TypeScript experience in large-scale production web apps
• Strong understanding of modern front-end fundamentals:
  • HTML5, CSS3, ES6+, responsive design, accessibility
• Hands-on PHP experience (OOP, MVC patterns; Laravel/Symfony preferred)
• MySQL experience including schema design and query optimization
• Proven experience leading/managing developers (code reviews, mentorship, performance feedback)
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have (Plusses)

• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience designing/consuming REST APIs and/or GraphQL
• CI/CD, Docker, or Infrastructure as Code exposure
• Experience with high-traffic and/or performance-sensitive web applications
• Jira or similar ticketing/project management tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related)
