Lead SEC Analyst

Role Overview

Lead GitLab’s SEC reporting as part of the Accounting team. You will own external financial reporting, including preparation and filing of key SEC forms, and drive improvements to the quality and consistency of disclosures and reporting processes.

Key Missions

• Own the preparation, review, and filing of GitLab’s SEC filings, including:
  • Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and S-1
• Drive and manage the SEC reporting calendar
• Coordinate work across multiple departments to meet reporting deadlines
• Lead the earnings release process, including:
  • Quarterly management reporting package
  • Review of financial information
• Improve disclosure and reporting processes to enhance quality, consistency, and execution

Requirements

• CPA licensure or active pursuit of licensure (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Strong project management skills and ability to independently manage competing deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including research and interpretation of complex accounting guidance
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
• Experience collaborating with functions such as Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, and business partners
• Experience owning SEC reporting deliverables (10-K, 10-Q) in a public company or public accounting environment serving public clients

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Proficiency with Workiva Wdesk and NetSuite
• Demonstrated track record of improving disclosures and reporting processes (not just executing them)

• Full remote role based in the Americas
