About the role
Role Overview
Lead Research Advisor on the Customer Success team at Dscout. You will merge research expertise with a customer success motion to drive platform adoption, help customers get maximum value from their subscription, and reduce churn risk. You will also lead and mentor a small team of Research Advisors.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Dscout expert to train and educate customers on platform functionality and research methodology.
- Consult with customers to recommend research designs and ensure successful outcomes.
- Plan, design, recruit, field, and support high-impact qualitative research projects for customers.
- Help customers derive insights from data using Dscout’s analysis tools.
- Partner with Sales to improve retention, identify expansion opportunities, and proactively mitigate churn risk.
- Manage 1–3 Research Advisors: prioritize work, coach performance, and support professional growth.
- Provide feedback and advocacy internally to improve Dscout’s product and overall user experience.
- Occasionally travel for onsite customer visits to build relationships, train, share best practices, and gather product feedback.
- Support and guide research participants ("Scouts").
Requirements
- 5+ years of research experience, ideally with exposure to a Customer Success or consulting model.
- Proven ability to lead complex, end-to-end qualitative research engagements (especially planning/scoping, design, recruiting, fielding, and analysis).
- Ability to consult with customers to drive product adoption and maximize customer lifetime value.
- 1+ year people management experience.
- BA/BS in a relevant field (anthropology, sociology, market research, design research, HCI) or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
