About the role

Role Overview

Alpaca is looking for a Lead Product Manager (Accounts) to own the Accounts product area. In this senior role, you’ll set the accounts roadmap, unify fragmented initiatives, and ensure predictable APIs, clear documentation, and reliable delivery for partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the Accounts domain.
  • Lead and execute multiple parallel workstreams, shipping the most strategic initiatives hands-on.
  • Unify account API exposure and internal systems to support consistent data models and partner experiences.
  • Shape how a single KYC/KYB surface adapts across different account types.
  • Represent Accounts in product reviews, partner executive syncs, and leadership-level discussions.
  • Drive outcomes measured by partner adoption and production usage of account capabilities.

Key Accounts Missions (Domain Scope)

  • Account models and lifecycle
  • Integration and delivery
  • KYC/KYB
  • Sub-accounts and multi-accounts

Requirements

  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of an accounts-shaped surface at production scale.
  • Strong background in at least two areas:
    • KYC / identity verification
    • New account types (entity / joint / custodial / trust)
    • Sub-accounts / multi-accounts
    • IRA / tax-advantaged account structures
  • Ability to operate as a senior product owner who raises the bar, mentors peers, and sets quality standards.
  • Proven ability to represent the area in cross-functional and leadership forums without a management title.
  • Direct US accounts/identity regulatory experience.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as:
    • FINRA KYC/AML, FATCA, IRS entity rules, beneficial ownership / CDD, OFAC screening
  • Experience analyzing data with SQL and a BI tool.
  • 10+ years experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, or startup work, with senior IC ownership in regulated identity/accounts/brokerage.
  • Track record of setting and executing an area-level roadmap across multiple in-flight workstreams (not just shipping a single product).
  • Senior posture to sequence accounts work from day one (no long ramp).
  • Hands-on regulated-product experience at the shipping/implementation layer (not only policy).
  • Strong communication skills for partner-facing conversations and regulator-adjacent discussions.
  • Bachelor’s degree (CS, engineering, finance, or equivalent).

Nice-to-haves

  • Broker-dealer / institutional brokerage experience (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, IBKR, Apex, Drivewealth, correspondent-clearing equivalents).
  • Experience standing up KYC/identity programs from scratch.
  • Familiarity with B2B2C correspondent / broker-as-a-service models.
  • Experience with entity/corporate onboarding, beneficial ownership, KYB at scale.
  • Experience with US retirement accounts (IRA ecosystem, rollovers) and/or non-US registered/tax-advantaged accounts.
  • Experience in broker-dealer operations (exceptions queues, document review, account maintenance) and automation opportunities.
  • AI-native PM workflow experience (e.g., Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, NotebookLM, custom agents) used in PRD drafting, call synthesis, and data exploration.
