Join Twilio as a Lead Product Designer (Staff Product Designer) for Voice Products. You will lead the design strategy and end-to-end UX for Twilio’s global voice infrastructure and communications primitives, focused on helping developers understand, configure, and operate complex systems.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design strategy for Voice Products, delivering seamless developer experiences for systems such as:
- Programmable Voice
- Elastic SIP Trunking
- Call Telemetry / Insights
- Build an omnichannel, channel-agnostic observability and configuration narrative by collaborating with design teams across Messaging, Email, Conversations, and AI.
- Shape users’ mental models through:
- Complex configuration wizards
- Information architecture for multi-layered technical workflows
- Establish “gold standard” product design craft and mentor junior designers.
- Lead design collaboration with engineering and product leaders to navigate organizational complexity and align cross-product touchpoints.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional product design experience for highly technical software products, developer tools, infrastructure, or complex B2B/SaaS platforms.
- A strong, exhaustive portfolio showing:
- Structural systems thinking
- Data-driven design decisions
- Deep product design craft
- Demonstrated cross-functional influence partnering with engineering and product leadership.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, highly complex technical spaces, creating clear frameworks from abstract constraints.
- Experience designing for developers, including interfaces for APIs, SDKs, CLIs, and configuration consoles.
- Real-time telemetry/observability experience designing high-density visualizations, live charts, error logging, or diagnostics dashboards.
- AI-powered UX mindset: curiosity about AI-powered tools/workflows and thoughtful use of emerging technologies to improve speed, quality, and impact.
Nice to Have
- Direct engineering fluency such as safely contributing to front-end code or using modern code-modification/prototyping AI tools.
- Portfolio depth specifically related to developer tooling and real-time observability products.
