Lead Product Designer, Platform

Role Overview

As a Lead Product Designer, Platform at DraftKings, you’ll drive the design vision and execution for a major platform product area. You’ll define long-term product direction across teams, lead complex design efforts, and create reusable design patterns and systems that scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for complex product surfaces, platform capabilities, or strategic initiatives with broad cross-team impact
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Research, Analytics, Operations, and partner product teams to shape vision and strategy
• Structure ambiguous problem spaces by defining actionable approaches for workflows, shared systems, and scalable experiences
• Deliver end-to-end design from concept through execution while balancing user needs and business goals
• Guide teams in applying and evolving design system patterns, platform standards, and reusable interaction models
• Influence product and design direction via storytelling, framing, and strategic critique
• Partner with Engineering to understand technical constraints, dependencies, and implementation tradeoffs
• Set quality standards and provide detailed feedback to elevate work of peers and junior designers
• Mentor and coach designers to grow design culture, craft, and organizational impact

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 6+ years designing digital products, with a track record leading large-scale platform or high-impact initiatives
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design and systems thinking with measurable outcomes
• Deep fluency in interaction design, product thinking, and design systems
• Experience shaping product strategy and influencing roadmap planning with cross-functional teams
• Experience designing shared platforms/internal tools/enterprise workflows serving multiple user groups
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and create structure in complex or undefined problems
• Strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills
• Experience mentoring/coaching designers
